Arrived on time, in new condition, all was well. Functionality of this scanner is fantastic. Programming is a breeze. Handles simulcast better than any other scanner out there. He will be driving from the Indiana area to Southern Florida and wants to depend on the GPS to scan the nearby areas as he drives. Right now he only has a few systems / sites for his home area downloaded.The SDS100 comes with a USB charger. Alternately any USB charger will power and/or charge the SDS100 battery. If you have a smartphone or other USB device charger you can use it if you don’t want to use the charger that came with the radio. MUCH CLEARER.Currently, on the SDS100 & SDS200, you can customize to show the filter selection. That works if you are picking a specific choice, such as Normal, Wide Invert, Global, etc. But if you are using Auto, the display only shows "Auto", not which choice it found was the best match. The IC-R30 far outperformed the SDS100 and rarely stopped, opened squelch without good clear voice traffic. On noisy or poor voice traffic some were unintelligible on the SDS100, the IC-R30 still had impressive clear audio. The SDS100 does everything a scanner can do.
